This is a great little sauce for anything from Vegetables to Tofu.

Sweet and Sour Sauce

1 x tbsp Sesame Seed Oil

Heat in a wok and then add,

1 x tbsp Garlic
1 x tbsp Ginger

Cook slowly on a low heat just to take off the edge, then in a bowl mix,

2 x tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
1 x tbsp Cider Vinegar
1 x tbsp Ketchup
1 x tbsp Light Soy Sauce

Then add it to the wok,

1 x Small Tin of Pineapple Chunks and Juice

Cook for a little till all the ingredients are mixed through, then mix 1 tbsp of Arrow Root with a small amount of water to make a slick paste with no lumps add this to your wok, but remember to keep the mix moving. You should now have a smooth but thick teak coloured mix, if it is to thick you can add some water, if it is to thin cook a little longer or make up some more of the Arrow Root and water mix as before.

You now have a great Sweet and Sour Sauce to pour over roasted or stir fried Vegetables or any other thing you can think, I have mine with Tofu and Vegetables and some wild rice mix. (see pic)

Hope you enjoy this one, you can make it up before hand and store in the fridge, it will last for a few day.

Hi Vegan Bear,

Just realised I still had your Blog bookmarked, from when I was on Eurowoof!

You certainly have an interesting Blog, not that I know much about Blogs!!!

I like the mix of politics and vegan recipes. So when is the world going to be graced with your vegan cook book?

Hope you have a great 2007,

Hagbard - Eurowoof
