Going Green

Well as I said on my Friday posting we are having a juice weekend.

I think it’s important to include greens in you Juices and Smoothies.

Here is one of the recipes that I use.

¼ Pineapple
½ Cucumber
2 Carrots
4 Apples
1 Lime (rind off)
1 Avocado
1 Romaine Lettuce
2 cups of Dark Greens

Juice the Pineapple, Cucumber, Carrots, Apples and the Lime.
Then in a blender add the Lettuce, Dark Greens and the Avocado, a little ice and then the juice. Blend this till its smooth. Now if this is not sweet enough for you, you could add a Banana.

It’s best to drink this as soon as you make it, if you don’t have the time or if you want to keep it for a bit later the best thing to do is put it in a bottle or flask that will be suitable for storage. Whatever you do keep it cool and drink within 16 hours. I could tell you a very funny story about me standing in my pants covered in juice 10 mins before having to leave for work. Then having to wipe down the whole kitchen including the ceiling all because I left my juice out of the fridge over night.

What do you have in your Juices and Smoothies?

Thanks for the visit. I am sure with a bit of research you could put together a course without needing to go to any fancy, expensive classes to do so as there is so much info on the web.

Looking forward to Spring next month here in South Africa to try and become at least 60% raw :)
